GOAL #1

All students will meet or exceed state standards across all curricular areas and acquire the essential skills to be continuous learners and productive citizens in an increasingly global society.

Michigan State University's report, Michigan School Finance at the Crossroads: A Quarter Century of State Control provides a broad analysis of the state’s K-12 school finance, and advances a clear set of recommendations for achieving adequate funding (Jan. 2019).

 

School Finance Research Collaborative - Top Michigan business leaders and education experts announced the results of Michigan’s first truly comprehensive school adequacy study. Commissioned by the School Finance Research Collaborative, the study is the first of its kind to determine the true cost of student achievement in Michigan. The broad-based, diverse and bipartisan Collaborative, representing all corners of Michigan, formed in 2016 to examine the way we fund schools in Michigan so all students can succeed.
